Yazhou Bay Cultural and Sports Center (Deep Sea Museum and Sports Center)

The design inspiration for the Yazhou Bay Cultural and Sports Center derives from the iconic geographical and natural landscape of Sanya: the "Ends of the Earth" (Tianya Haijiao).

The gentle and dynamic landscape design concept of the site draws from ocean currents, while the strong architectural volumes are inspired by the ancient and rugged giant rocks weathered by wind and waves along the coastline, exhibiting a bold and rugged appearance.The design features simple and pure geometric shapes, created through bold and decisive cuts, contrasting with the dynamic curves of the base. It resembles giant rocks suspended above the surging waves, forming rich semi-outdoor spaces that provide shade and shelter from the rain for outdoor activities during the summer months, offering citizens a comfortable outdoor environment.
