Wangcong School in Pixian District, Chengdu

Wangcong School is a newly established nine-year comprehensive school under the new educational concept. The school caters to students spanning a wide age range, necessitating unique requirements for teaching facilities, sports grounds, and management measures compared to traditional elementary or secondary schools. The school administration hopes to optimize the use of limited space by separating the sports facilities for lower and upper grade students, which enhances student access and safety.

To achieve this, we have utilized the existing site conditions by arranging two athletic fields of different sizes on the east and west sides. Additionally, classrooms are distributed on the north and south sides, with a large connecting platform in the middle. This layout not only meets the school's requirement to separate lower and upper grade students but also facilitates appropriate connectivity. The gymnasium (swimming pool) is positioned in the center, serving as a landmark. The overall layout resembles two blooming azaleas, combining form and function seamlessly.
