The project we undertook for the Teng County Zhonghe Ceramic Industrial Park, including the conceptualization and detailed design, encompasses the Ceramic Expo Center, Cultural and Creative Street, Trading Market Area, and Logistics Warehouse Area. The main building in the Expo Center area consists of two major functions: the Ceramic Museum and the Exhibition Center.
The Song Dynasty Zhonghe Kiln Site in Teng County, Guangxi, is significant evidence of the longstanding history of ceramic production in Guangxi. Teng County is renowned as the "New Ceramic Capital of the South," with the ceramic industry holding a vital position in local politics, economy, and culture. Serving as a showcase for Teng County ceramics, the main building shoulders the important mission of cultural exhibition, ceramic sales, and various commercial activities.
We connect the Exhibition Center and the Ceramic Museum with a "jade belt" to create a unified entity. Utilizing curves and an upward momentum, we aim to infuse dynamic elements into the design. The material transition from stone to glass on the prominent urban facade reflects the "value sublimation" process of ceramic creation, from simple and solid to crystalline and transparent.
